5.0 out of 5 stars Good mystery, better writing
“In “The Rules of the Game,” Irvin puts nuanced characters at the center of a suspenseful mystery. The story moves smoothly and quickly, making the book an easy, enjoyable read.
I am sometimes wary of authors using shifting points of view. It is often used as a device to throw readers off or intentionally confuse them, but in “The Rules of the Game,” it is employed to give readers different perspectives. The author wasn’t trying to pull one over on the readers and I appreciated that.
This book will be enjoyed by fans of mystery or suspense genres. Like Tana French or John Grisham, it’s page-turning and fast-paced.”
