Jilted by her long-time boyfriend and jobless after budget cuts at the school where she teaches, Riley Marie Finn heads to the Adirondacks in search of summer employment and a place to hide. Lost on the backroads, she is rescued by Josh Waylon, a forest ranger haunted by the ghost of his wife, who was murdered one year ago. Waylon has sworn off women until Riley invades his territory. But when a second woman is killed, both he and Riley become suspects.
